  • Gavin McKenzie - Owner & CEO

    A 5th generation Miami native, Gavin McKenzie is Owner and CEO of McKenzie. Since starting the company in 2005, Gavin has continued to oversee all three divisions of the business.

    Gavin is a three time recipient of the Gator 100 award from the University of Florida and has been recognized as a 40 under 40 award recipient by the South Florida Business Journal. He is a licensed general contractor in the state of Florida and LEED certified.

    Chairman of The Alliance for Florida's National Parks, The Dade Heritage Trust, The Herman Lucerne Memorial Foundation, and The Artists in Residence in Everglades. Gavin is an avid fisherman and outdoorsman and firmly believes that protecting the environment is part of our basic responsibility as humans. He aims to inspire others through photography and activism.

  • Tim Funke - Chief Operating Officer

    Tim Funke is Chief Operating Officer for McKenzie, where he oversees operations and growth for this boutique design, build and custom fabrication firm providing high-quality services to commercial and residential clients. Tim has more than 20 years of experience overseeing construction operations with a focus on luxury residential, retail, hospitality, and adaptive reuse projects. An accomplished leader, he is responsible for overseeing a wide variety of McKenzie operations, including pre-construction, project planning and management, staffing, client and partner relationships and management, and business development.

  • Vincent Federici - Director of Craft

    Vincent Federici, a third-generation millwork professional, heads the McKenzie Craft brand. With over 13 years of leadership experience in the millwork and fabrication industries, Vincent directly oversees Sales and Operations for the division. He also acts as the Project Executive to all McKenzie Craft projects, striving for excellence in customer service and delivery on all expectations and project goals.

    A member of the AWI, ISFA, and NKBA groups, Vincent also holds individual technical certifications in many fabrication disciplines.

    He is a lover of all things mechanical and satisfies this passion through the customization and restoration of automobiles and motorcycles primarily from the 1970s.

  • Bentley Balzebre - Controller

    Bentley has been with McKenzie since 2012. She oversees accounting operations for all three divisions including managing all aspects of the accounting process, payroll, inventory, and compliance.

    She is responsible for guiding financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures while playing a lead role in preparing and publishing monthly financial statements.

    Bentley completed her undergraduate studies at Clemson University before moving on to Michigan State University to complete a study program in International Packaging Engineering. She is OSHA certified and licensed as a financial advisor and investment advisor.

    Her pride and joy are her two amazing children. Outside of the office you can find Bentley on the soccer field watching her daughter play or on the water watching her son windsurf. During her downtime she enjoys lounging by the pool with her husband either reading a book, knitting, or playing Rumikub.

  • Kathryn Dahak - Executive Assistant to the CEO

    Kathryn joined McKenzie in 2021 as the Executive Assistant to the CEO. She provides executive support in a one-on-one working relationship. Kathryn also serves as a liaison to senior management; organizes and coordinates executive outreach and external relations efforts; and oversees special projects. This includes monitoring sales leads, developing marketing literature and collateral, managing the website and social media, and overseeing company wide communications.

  • Maria Diaz - Executive Assistant to the COO

    Maria Diaz graduated Cum Laude from Everglades University with a degree in Construction Management. She started at McKenzie in 2023 as Executive Assistant to the COO and facilitates a variety of process and functions that involve project coordination, permitting, and recruiting. Maria has spent 17 years in the construction industry, with a special focus in permitting processes and liaising with authorities having jurisdiction in particular zoning and public works matters.
