Emerging out of the McKenzie Craft workshop, our team of designers and fabricators completed another great partnership with The Related Group, producing more than twenty pieces that were installed into the new Icon Bay Condominium towers in the waterfront neighborhood of Edgewater, Miami. Chief among the work is the lobby reception desk, composed of three stacked 100” long blocks cladded with a natural quartzite stone and supported only in a center pivot axis. Its considerable weight and massiveness presented to us one of the most challenging and impressive objects designed and built by our team. The sculptural garden at Icon Bay was donated to the City of Miami, giving McKenzie Craft the opportunity to have its first work in a public park: six exterior polished concrete benches poured on-site without control joints incorporating soft-curved reclaimed Teak backrests.
