In 2005, Gavin McKenzie founded a small, self-performing residential general contracting firm. The vision was to create a team of like-minded individuals who were passionate about the art and science of building and the improvement of others’ lives through sustainable and progressive approaches. This goal, while simple, takes a team of dedicated professionals, working both on and off the job site and ensuring delivery of the quality and craftsmanship that McKenzie is known for in the South Florida region.

With the South Florida Business Journal recognizing the immense population growth in the area and the imminent approach of Miami becoming America’s financial hub, the city, and the surrounding area have become saturated with opportunities to latch on to this growth, this commercial expansion and the residential opportunities that follow, as population continues to grow and Miami’s office market continues to remain strong, with vacancy levels well below the national average. The tide is rapidly flowing in and McKenzie is poised to ride the wave.
